Cutimed® Sorbact Hydro®

(previously known as Cutimed® Sorbact® Gel)

is a non-absorbent bacteria and fungi binding wound dressing, based on Sorbact® Technology. It consists of a Sorbact® DACC™-coated wound contact layer covered with a hydrogel containing carbomer and propylene glycol (10%). Cutimed Sorbact Hydro hydrates and donates moisture to the wound bed and facilitates autolytic debridement.

  • Treats and helps to prevent wound infection
  • Safe removal of bacteria, fungi and endotoxins
  • Effective against most common resistant pathogens

Intended Purpose

Indications: Cutimed Sorbact Hydro is intended for use in management of clean, contaminated, colonized or infected dry to exuding wounds, such as surgical wounds, traumatic wounds, burns, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and leg ulcers. It  can be used on both superficial and deep wounds. For managing exudate, Cutimed Sorbact Hydro should be used together with a moisture preserving secondary dressing appropriate for the exudate level.

Wear time: Should the clinical condition allow, the dressing can be left in place for up to 7 days.

Product benefits

Symbol of a shield representing infection prevention

Treats and helps to prevent wound infection

Sorbact Technology dressings reduce bioburden and support effective wound healing, with no known contraindications and low risk of allergies1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
Symbol of looped threads to visualize the term 'pacify'

Safe removal of bacteria, fungi and endotoxins

Sorbact Technology dressings irreversibly bind and remove bacteria, without the release of active agents to the wound5. Development of bacterial or fungal resistance is not expected.
Symbol showing crossed out pathogens, which stands for effectiveness against the most common resistant ones

Effective against most common resistant pathogens

In vitro tests show that Sorbact Technology dressings are able to inhibit the growth of the Top 5 World Health Organization (WHO) pathogens 7.
Symbol of water circulation to visualize effective moisture balance

Hydrates the wound

Hydration assists a moist wound environment and facilitates the natural wound healing process.

How to use

Image showing how to apply Cutimed® Sorbact Hydro®
1. Prepare the wound and surrounding skin according to local clinical practice.
2. Select an appropriate dressing size.
3. Remove the dressing from the peel pouch using an aseptic technique.
4. If the dressing is cut, use an aseptic technique.
5. Apply the dressing. Ensure that the dressing comes into direct contact with the complete wound surface to allow microorganisms to bind to the dressing. The dressing should not overlap the surrounding skin. Avoid dense packing when used in deep wounds.
6. Apply a moisture preserving secondary dressing appropriate for the exudate level, such as foam dressing, absorbent pad or film dressing, and fixate.
7. The dressing change frequency depends on exudate levels and the overall condition of the wound and surrounding skin. Should the clinical condition allow, the dressing can be left in place for up to 7 days.
How to Remove
Should the dressing adhere to the wound, moisten the dressing to assist removal and to avoid disruption of the healing wound.
