1. Clean and dry the affected area before applying Cutimed PROTECT Spray.
2. Hold the spray nozzle at a distance of 10 – 15 cm (4 – 6 inches) from the skin and apply a smooth, even coating of film over the desired area by applying the spray in a sweeping motion. Cover the wound or damaged skin temporarily in order to avoid direct spray application.
3. If an area is missed during the first application, allow Cutimed PROTECT Spray to dry (approximately 30 seconds) and then apply again only to the desired area. When applying Cutimed PROTECT Spray to areas with skin folds or areas where skin touches skin, make sure that these areas are sufficiently exposed to air to allow the film to fully dry.
Using the product under adhesive tape, dressings or devices:
A: allow Cutimed PROTECT Spray to fully dry before covering the area with a dressing or adhesive products.
B: Cutimed PROTECT Spray needs to be re-applied each time the dressing and/or adhesive products is/are changed; most adhesives will remove the barrier film.
Using the product for protection from bodily fluids, faeces or urine etc. without other adhesive products being applied to the skin:
A: it is recommended to re-apply Cutimed PROTECT Spray every 24 – 96 hours, depending on how often the area is cleaned.
B: in extreme cases (e.g. chronic diarrhoea) which involves very frequent skin cleansing, it may be necessary to re-apply the product more frequently (i.e. every 12 – 24 hours).
4. Replace the cap over the spray nozzle when not in use.
How to removeIf desired, the film can be removed with most medical adhesive removers following the directions of the manufacturer.
